Does the school teach any other musical instruments?
The school also gives singing lessons as well as saxophone, flute, clarinet and oboe lessons.
Does my teacher need to have a CRB or DBS check?
The Home Office says that if you are working regularly with children you have to hold a current CRB or DBS. A teacher should be able to provide you with a disclosure number on request.
How many students are on a class?
The children's classes normally have 3 to 4 students. The adult 2 hour classes have up to 7 students.
Does the Guitar School cancel classes if student numbers are low?
Unlike some Adult Education colleges, we do not cancel a class at no notice. The school tries to keep the courses running all year round, except for short breaks over the main school holidays.
How old do you have to be to start playing the guita
The Guitar School takes children from 5 years old.
How long does it take to be entered for an ABRSM guitar or piano exam?
The ABRSM suggest aiming to enter a child for a grade a year. This does depend on the child as some children work quicker than this in which case they will be entered as soon as is feasible.
Children can start piano and keyboard very young, from 4 years is good.
Are there any other guitar or music courses in Upminster or Romford?
Redbridge Institute, Adult College Of Barking And Dagenham and Havering Adult College run guitar courses in large groups of up to 18 per class. These classes are fixed term and will be cancelled if there are not enough students.
